Cement Producer Puts Landed Cost Per Market on a Daily Report
Freight and fuel decide the margin, and both were reported late enough to make the decision academic.
Trucks waited at the gate while three systems were reconciled by hand before a single bag could move.
Order, weighbridge, e-way bill and invoice each needed separate entry, and a mismatch at any point sent the driver back to the office. Turnaround time was measured in hours, transporters priced that delay into their rates, and the dispatch team spent its day on data entry rather than on loading.
The gate process was rebuilt around a single flow: the order releases the vehicle, the weighbridge reading writes straight to the despatch, and the e-way bill and invoice are raised from that same document. Exceptions — tare mismatch, expired order, credit block — are raised at the gate with the reason attached, not discovered at the weighbridge.
Vehicle turnaround fell to a fraction of what it was, the dispatch office stopped rekeying, and transporters have begun quoting against the improved turnaround.
